The doors officially opened for the new Community Market of Pottawatomie County (CMoPC) food resource center on Tuesday, July 5, 2016. The CMoPC provides food and resources to local residents struggling with hunger, and as the motto reads, the center is committed to "Fighting Hunger... Feeding Hope". In addition to access to nutritious food in an empowering shopping environment, the CMoPC also offers services and resources such as resume and career assistance, nutrition classes and driver safety.
Frank Abagnale, a security consultant to the FBI for more than four decades, is also the ambassador for AARP Fraud Watch Network. AARP Oklahoma is bringing Abagnale to Tulsa Aug. 31 to talk about how to avoid identity theft.

The AARP Fraud Watch Network is educating Oklahomans throughout the state about how they can protect themselves and their families from frauds and scams. Con artists don't care how hard you worked - they steal billions of dollars every year from Oklahomans like you and me. That's why the AARP Fraud Watch Network is fighting back and inviting you to FREE Senior Fraud Conferences across the state. These conferences are hosted by the Oklahoma Insurance Department. The Oklahoma legislature is currently considering House Bill 2482 by Representative Pat Ownbey and Senator Frank Simpson that would update state law, creating a nurse licensure compact, to allow nurses to care across state lines. This no-cost, commonsense solution would create opportunities for nurses with licenses in neighboring states to practice in Oklahoma.
