AARP and the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department recently celebrated the grand opening of the 18th Heart Healthy Trail, at Quartz Mountain State Park near Lone Wolf.

The Heart Healthy Trails program is a collaborative effort to create paved, fully accessible walking paths of easy to moderate difficulty in state parks across Oklahoma. The trails are designed to encourage outdoor activity and healthy living for people of all ages and abilities.

The 1.8-mile Quartz Mountain State Park trail winds through the woods and over the North Fork River before ending at the park’s nature center.

AARP Oklahoma also offers free Healthy Habits Resource Kits, which include information on nutritious diets, exercise and brain health. Get one by going to aarp.org/healthyhabits.
