AARP Oregon’s SpeakerBureau has skilled volunteers that can speak to your group both in-person and online! Our speakers provide FREE, virtual and in-person presentations that address the issues that matter most to Oregonians 50 and older.

Our speakers provide engaging presentations to groups, including community organizations, houses of worship, non-profits, AARP chapters, and anyone who is interested in connecting with others and learning more. AARP reserves the right to decline, reschedule, or cancel requests if the minimum attendance of 10 participants is not met.
We are volunteers dedicated to providing fun, interesting, and up-to-date educational programs to the public.
What presentations are available?
Social Security
- Social Security, Understanding Your Benefit: This presentation helps participants understand their Social Security
benefits and how to maximize them. It includes information on
eligibility, benefit calculations, and claiming strategies.

Fighting Fraud
- Fraud Watch Basics: Have you ever been approached with a fraudulent offer or been a victim of identity theft? The AARP Fraud Watch Network is working to empower you in the fight, with proven resources and tools to help you spot and avoid identity theft and fraud. By taking a few practical steps, you have the power to fight back against fraud. This session will arm you with the latest data on fraud trends and provide tips and resources to protect yourself and your family.

Brain Health
- Six Pillars of Brain Health: It’s never too late to focus on your brain health! In this interactive session, you will learn about the six pillars of brain health, activities that support brain health, and hopefully be inspired by others. This session offers a comprehensive overview for anyone interested in learning more about brain health, providing information on the latest research, lifestyle suggestions, and resources to further explore the topic.

Livable Communities
- Homefit:
AARP surveys consistently find that older adults want to remain in their current homes and communities for as long as possible. Yet barely one percent of the nation’s housing supply contains any “universal design” elements — such as single story living or a sink that can be reached from a wheelchair. That’s where AARP HomeFit comes in. Based on the free AARP HomeFit Guide, this presentation can help individuals and families make their current or future
residence — or that of a loved one — their “lifelong home.”

- Caregiving, Caring for Your Family, Friends, and Loved Ones.
This presentation helps you organize caregiving efforts, assess needs and resources, develop a comprehensive plan (including self-care), and find assistance. Connect with other family caregivers to exchange support, advice, and tips.

This Presentation helps caregivers understand and manage the financial aspects of caregiving. It includes information on budgeting, accessing financial assistance, and planning for future expenses

- Promote AARP’s mission and resources in your community
- Serve as an ambassador for AARP
- Build relationships with host organizations
- Commit to at least two presentations per year
