Monmouth and Independence both joined the AARP Network of Age-Friendly States and Communities within the past year. Oregon now has 13 communities in the network.
AARP Oregon, the city of Portland and Oregon Walks are kicking off a season of NeighborWalks, with nine guided walks on tap through October. The 10 a.m. walks are around 2 miles and go through neighborhoods, parks and city sites, often focusing on historical highlights.
Age-friendly living AARP Oregon is partnering with local leaders and urging them to think in new ways to create safe and livable age-friendly communities.
