AARP Pennsylvania will be in the Capitol Rotunda in Harrisburg at noon on Wednesday, April 10, for a rally to help more older adults receive services they need to remain in their homes and to press for a long-overdue update to the state’s Older Adult Protective Services Act.

Currently, older adults rely on state lottery proceeds to fund home- and community-based programs and services.

The money is allocated during the state budget process. The new budget is due by Sunday, June 30.

Pennsylvania’s outdated Older Adult Protective Services Act leaves seniors increasingly vulnerable to physical, psychological and financial abuse.

Members who want to get involved can attend the rally and meet with lawmakers to discuss those issues and others affecting older adults.

Registration is required. Visit aarp.org/pa to learn more.
