AARP Eye Center
Are you having a hard time finding intellectual or social stimulation in retirement? More than 100 Osher Lifelong Learning Institutes (OLLI) throughout the United States offer classes, excursions, and social events for people just like you – and now AARP is partnering with OLLI at Emory University to offer a special driver safety course at the Executive Park location on Wednesday, January 14 and January 21 from 1:15 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
AARP's Driver Safety is the nation's first and largest course designed for drivers ages 50 and older, addressing age-related physical changes that can affect our driving ability and provides compensating techniques for use in the driving environment. More importantly, the Driver Safety class helps participants identify individual problem areas, which helps to improve their own driving behavior. Completing this course and submitting your certificate to your insurance company may result in a reduction of up to 10% on your insurance premiums! The course fee is $20; AARP members receive a $5 discount using promo code AARP2015. Register by January 10 online at olli.emory.edu or by calling 404-727-6000 (select option 2).
Emory Continuing Education hosts the successful OLLI at Emory program in Atlanta, offering more than 150 courses and special events each year at their new location in Executive Park in North Druid Hills. Most classes -- taught by University professors, graduate students, and other subject matter experts -- run from six to eight weeks over four terms – spring, summer, fall and winter. In addition to co-sponsoring the driver safety course, AARP will provide experts to lead workshops in areas including aging in place, new health care law benefits, Social Security and Medicare.
The Bernard Osher Foundation of California partners with colleges and universities in every state across the U.S. to provide educational programs to older adults who are looking to thrive in their free time. OLLI programs are member-run organizations offering a multitude of volunteer and leadership opportunities for eager adults, offering in-depth classes, exciting special events, and engaging social opportunities designed specifically to engage the hearts and minds of Americans ages 50 and older. Classes have no credits, no homework, and no grades – just learning for the joy of learning.
