Livable Communities

With spring just around the corner, home improvement season is upon us! Studies have found that nearly 90% of the people over the age of 65 want to remain in their homes and communities as they age and AARP wants to help make this dream a reality for more South Dakotans!

AARP South Dakota is excited to announce a local winner of the AARP Community Challenge, which aims to create change at the community-level. The winning project comes from NeighborWorks® Dakota Home Resources in Rapid City, SD. The project was one of 89 grants funded nationally through the AARP Community Challenge grant competition and is set to be completed by November 1, 2017.

AARP South Dakota is encouraging volunteers to help make their communities more attractive places to live, work and play—especially in rural areas.
