Caregiving may be one of the most important roles a person takes on in his or her life, whether it is a sudden role or one that develops over time. Having resources to start to plan for this role, helping to coordinate a big move, or contemplating having a loved one move in will make the process much easier.
With many organizations offering different types of help and services, it can be a challenge to sort out the specific help best suited to one's needs. With this in mind, AARP developed the Utah Caregiver Resource Guide to help caregivers get the type of assistance they need, help them connect with others, and help caregivers learn how to take care of themselves.
Along with a comprehensive list of agencies in Utah and at the national level, the Utah Caregiver Resource Guide provides tips to find services and supports, such as:
- Asking for help
- Using the Internet
- Talking to a real person
- Writing down questions in advance
- Keeping track of conversations
- Using your creativity
- Looking to local resources
