Leadership Fairfax Announces the fall 2015 Lifetime Leadership Program

Leadership Fairfax

Volunteer Fairfax

Vienna, VA – Leadership Fairfax (LFI) is currently accepting applications for the fall 2015 Lifetime Leadership Program (LLP.)  This two month tuition based program is for the newly retired, or those close to retirement, that are seeking to utilize their knowledge and leadership to make significant contributions to the Fairfax County community.  It is based on the belief that people in the second half of life can offer a wealth of experience, talent, and vitality to community initiatives, while enriching and expanding their own lives.

LLP begins on October 7, 2015 and includes seven engaging, interactive sessions.  Program participants will receive insight into the Fairfax County community, its needs, and the critical role of volunteers and nonprofits.  The program will also explore social entrepreneurship and starting a new business, serving on a non-profit board, and navigating the transition to an “encore” career.

LLP is a partnership between Leadership Fairfax and Volunteer Fairfax, supported by the Positive Aging Coalition, George Mason University, Fairfax County Neighborhood and Community Services, and the Area Agency on Aging.

Interested participants are encouraged to attend an information session at the Leadership Fairfax office, 8230 Old Courthouse Road, Suite 100, Vienna, VA 22182.  Sessions will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, August 26 and again on Monday, September 14.  Program details, including an application, are available on the Leadership Fairfax website at www.leadershipfairfax.org.
