AARP Virginia Sponsored Debate Watch Party

On Tuesday evening, October 2, 2018, at 7 P.M. two of the candidates for the Virginia United States Senate seat, Tim Kaine and Corey Stewart, squared off in Richmond, Virginia for their final debate before the November 6, 2018 election.  A few miles away at the Double Tree Hilton in Midlothian, Virginia, forty or so retired educators attending the fall Virginia Retired Teachers Association Conference, watched with rapt attention to the questions posed and the candidates' answers.  The Debate Watch Party was sponsored by AARP Virginia in collaboration with the Virginia Retired Teachers Association.  Viewers of the debate came away with mixed reviews of how the debate reflected on the democratic political process but they were in consensus with their appreciation for the opportunity provided to them by AARP Virginia to see the debate while attending the conference.
