Today is yours for the taking, and AARP chapters are here in your community helping you make the most of it.
Join your local AARP chapters at the AARP Western Tidewater Chapter Expo from 2 to 6 p.m. on Friday, November 16, at Windsor Town Center, 23361 Courthouse Highway, Windsor, to get to know what they are all about.
AARP Virginia is providing a free shred truck that will be on site until 5 p.m. so you can dispose of your sensitive documents without risking identity theft. You can also dispose of your unused prescription medication until 4 p.m., thanks to the Isle of Wight Sheriff’s Department.
At the expo, your neighbors that are part of Franklin AARP Chapter #4851, Suffolk AARP Chapter #4030, and Windsor AARP Chapter #5309, will showcase the chapters’ work in the community. Learn how the chapters volunteer in the community and partner with other organizations to make our area a better place to live, work and play.
AARP programs Prepare to Care, Fraud Watch Network, and Home Fit will be featured.
AARP Chapters provide a local face - and heart - for AARP. Chapters are an important link between members, communities and AARP programs and services, offering a variety of community service, education, advocacy, leadership, and fellowship opportunities.
