Healthy Aging “Gracefully"

Williamsburg is considered one of the country's most beautiful cities, especially on a sunny day with a gentle breeze. And with the impressive King of Glory Lutheran Church as the venue, the 2024 Healthy Aging Conference was the perfect location. The atmosphere was energized with warmth and kindness as friends greeted one another with genuine joy.

AARP Virginia volunteers, dressed in royal red and other vendors, welcomed the guests with gifts, resources, and helpful information. State President Joyce Williams delivered the latest legislative updates with ease and humor, making the audience feel at home. Williams shared a joke about handouts and guarding the trashcans that had the audience chuckling immediately. With the grace, style, and sophistication of a professional charmer, Williams provided legislative updates on the wins and challenges still to come in Richmond.

The conference covered a wide range of topics related to aging, including physical health, mental health, social connections, and financial planning. The speakers were knowledgeable in their respective fields, and they provided practical advice and suggestions for improving one's quality of life as they age.
