Mature Living, a program that features topics of interest to older adults did segment focusing on age discrimination in employment. Laurie McCann, Senior Attorney with AARP Foundation Litigation, talks about discrimination in employment and the impact of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act during the past 50 years.
The mid-show segment features Kenneth Saunders, Director of Fairfax County’s Office of Human Rights and Equity Programs sharing tips viewers can use if they feel they are experiencing discrimination in the workplace.
In the second half of the show, Mary Jane Dye, current Editor of the Golden Gazette, discusses her own experience with age discrimination during her last job search. David Gamse, CEO of the Jewish Council for the Aging for Great Washington, shares ideas on how seniors can prepare for a new job, as well as the value seniors bring to the workplace. (CC)
