Know Your Rights and How to Ensure Them

On Thursday, April 25, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the Charles Beatley Central Library, At Home in Alexandria (AHA) invites you to attend "Know Your Rights and How to Ensure Them, " the third session of the AHA "Out of the Blue" discussion series.

The session will feature Virginia Attorney John Laster, who will explore and explain the legal directives and health care documents that need to be developed and filed so you can control decisions made about your care or the care of a family member or friend.

The "Out of the Blue" series was developed to help individuals be better prepared for unexpected events including medical and other emergencies.  The series is free and open to the public.

The final session, "End of Life: How to Write the Best Last Chapter," is scheduled for Thursday, May 16, same time and location. The discussion will focus on talking openly about death and dying; palliative and hospice care; making sure your affairs are in order; and planning a funeral or memorial service that reflects your wishes and sense of self.
