Bob Blancato, AARP Virginia State President, will speak on legislation that affects healthy aging at The ABC’s and Ds of Aging Conference on April 10. The purpose of the conference is to educate older adults about the components of healthy aging and to empower them to take action to live healthy lives.
This year, AARP Foundation is again providing free tax assistance and preparation for taxpayers with low to moderate income through the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide, in its 45thyear, is the nation’s largest free tax assistance and preparation service, giving special attention to those 60 and older. You do not need to be a member of AARP or a retiree to use this free service.
Before heading off to the polls Nov. 5, make sure you have an acceptable form of identification. Virginia voters are now required to show ID in order to cast a normal or absentee ballot. If you fail to present an acceptable form of ID you will be given the option to vote a provisional ballot.
