Thirteenth Health and Wellness Fair Theme Announced: AARP Virginia Offers Free Shredding of Confidential Documents

AARP Richmond North Chapter #5356 has teamed up with AARP Virginia and the Fifth Street Baptist Church to present the Thirteenth Health and Wellness Fair. This year’s theme is “The gift of CAREGIVING – One of Life’s Surprises.”

The fair will be held on Thursday, October 20 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at The G.R.A.C.E. Center Fifth Street Baptist Church, located on 1302 Victor Street, Richmond, Virginia 23222. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. for registration.

Attendees can bring documents to be shredded for free.  It is suggested that documents containing personal information such as address, birthdate, and Social Security number or other identifying information be shredded.  Shredding personal documents helps prevent identity theft.

Attendees will get to:

  • Observe health exhibits
  • Receive health information
  • Get a flu shot
  • Win door prizes
  • Get their blood pressure checked
  • Shred confidential paperwork for free

This event is open to the public. There is a $5.00 lunch fee per person due by October 13. Please mail your lunch free to AARP Richmond North Chapter #5356 P.O. Box 25313, Richmond, Virginia 23260. Please make the check or money order payable to AARP Richmond North.
