Arlington County VICAP is looking for Volunteer Medicare Counselors. You can make a difference in the lives of older Arlingtonians!

Arlington County Virginia Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program (VICAP) provides Medicare counseling to Medicare-eligible Arlington residents, their family members and care partners. We provide the training and certification to become a Counselor; you acquire valuable skills and enjoy a satisfying Volunteer experience knowing YOU have had a direct impact on someone’s life.

Arlington County VICAP needs Volunteers with basic computer skills that are available during regular business hours. Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older, and must complete an Arlington County Police background record check. Volunteers who assist with insurance counseling cannot be licensed brokers. We require an application with three (3) references for interested volunteers.

VICAP will have a series of trainings in Arlington throughout the summer followed by the opportunity to shadow experienced Counselors in preparation for the busy Open Enrollment season October 15 – December 7.
