AARP Eye Center
Hello Loudoun County Residents!
You can make an incredible difference in someone’s life right in your own neighborhood…and it would take only a few hours a month of your time!
AARP has joined with Loudoun Volunteer Caregivers (LVC) to help make a difference in the lives of our neighbors in Loudoun County.
LVC is a nonprofit agency that helps older adults, adults with disabilities and individuals suffering from chronic illness maintain their independence, by providing them with the little extra support they need to remain living in their homes. To meet that need t hey are currently looking for volunteers who have the time to help in these efforts.
Whether it is aging, disability or illness, everyday chores can become challenging, even daunting without help. LVC’s clients’ ability to drive themselves to much needed medical appointments or to handle daily tasks like banking or shopping can become more limited or impossible on their own. That’s where you can help. LVC needs volunteers to drive clients to medical appointments, shopping and errands, or help with household chores or home maintenance.
Whether you have a few hours a month or a few hours a week, you can help. Volunteering with the LVC can be a very rewarding experience and easy to do because you volunteer only as often as you wish and only when it fits your schedule. You will be amazed at the friendships you develop!
If you are interested in learning more about volunteer opportunities with LVC, please visit their website, or call or email Barbara Mendoza, Volunteer and Supportive Services Coordinator, at (703) 779-8617 bmendoza@lvcaregivers.org
Please join us in meeting this important community need. The rewards of volunteering are enormous, and the new friendships you make will enrich your life!
