The Wildlife Rescue League is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to preserving Virginia’s native wildlife through rehabilitation and education. It accomplishes these goals in three ways:
1) operating a wildlife assistance helpline that provides the public with advice, resources and referrals to licensed wildlife rehabilitators
2) providing transportation of wildlife from area vets to rehabilitators and
3) educating the public about how to co-exist with our wild neighbors and to prevent situations that lead to the need for rehabilitation.
Wildlife Rescue League needs helpline volunteers who respond to calls from their own phones and computers. They also needs drivers willing to transport contained wildlife throughout the northern Virginia region. Other opportunities are available, including grant writing, fundraising and public speaking.
If you are interested in any of these volunteer opportunities, please contact Becky Choi at wrlvolunteers4wildlife@gmail.com or visit Wildlife Rescue League.
