Ward 8 Special Elections Candidates Forum

On April 8th from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, the Anacostia/Bellevue/Congress Heights AARP Chapter #4870 will convene a Ward 8 City Council candidates forum at Covenant Baptist United Church of Christ, 3845 South Capitol Street, SW. Denise Rolark Barnes, publisher of the Washington Informer and former DC AARP state president, will be the moderator.

In order for the forum to be substantive, all candidates will be asked to share their creative and innovative ideas regarding the major issues facing Ward 8 senior citizens, among those being:
• affordable housing (preferably elderly-customized)
• affordable prescription drugs
• food disparities
• employment
• Age-Friendly DC
• home health care
• long-term care
• respite care
• transportation
