Another year, another highly successful tax-filing season for the AARP Tax-Aide program! Thanks to the commitment of our volunteers, tens of thousands of Wisconsinites received tax assistance free of charge.

AARP Wisconsin is recruiting volunteer advocates to represent six northern state Senate districts to help get the association’s messages across to elected officials at all levels. Tactics include contacting state and federal legislators, writing letters to the editor and taking part in town-hall meetings.

AARP Wisconsin is now seeking nominations for its 2017 AARP State Andrus Award for Community Service, which honors those individuals who are sharing their experience, talent, and skills to enrich the lives in their communities.

When the Legislature’s Joint Finance Committee holds hearings this spring to discuss the biennial budget proposed by Gov. Scott Walker (R), AARP volunteers will be there to support key issues.
