A Night On The Town in Casper Now Available

Classical music. Violinists in concert

The Reveille Rotary Club of Casper has partnered with AARP Wyoming, the Ramkota Hotel & Conference Center, and the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra to provide an evening out on the town for seniors (age 60+) who prefer not to drive at night. The fee for the event is $15 and includes transportation, dinner, and admission to the concert.  The Reveille Rotary Club will offer transportation to and from seniors’ homes in the Casper area to dinner and the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra evening performance Saturday, January 19, 2019.

The evening

The evening will begin with dinner at the Ramkota Hotel & Conference Center at 5:30 p.m., followed by a ride to the John F. Welsh Auditorium at Natrona County High School for the WSO concert. Transportation arrangements can be made for those who already hold a symphony ticket as well as for those who need a ticket. Everyone wishing to participate must call (307) 266-1478 to reserve a spot, as availability is somewhat limited.

The Wyoming Symphony Orchestra

The Wyoming Symphony Orchestra’s 69th season celebrates Aspects of Love, with the January 19 performance entitled, Dedication. Music has been used as a dedication of love, gratitude, and friendship. The Adagietto from Gustav Mahler’s fifth symphony was written as a musical love letter to his wife Alma. Grateful for the help of Dr. Nikolai Dahl to overcome a severe depression, Rachmaninoff dedicated his second piano concerto to him as a token of gratitude. Pianist Steven Lin, prizewinner at the Arthur Rubinstein Piano Competition, will take the audience through the work’s dazzling technical fireworks and gorgeous lush melodies. Elgar’s collection of musical portraits from the Enigma Variations ends the evening’s performance.

The opening performance of the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra is directed by Music Director Candidate, Christopher Dragon. For more information about the evening to the symphony, please call (307) 266-1478 or visit
