AARP Eye Center

AARP Wyoming’s Jennifer Baier will present on the six pillars of brain health during The Promoting our Women Warriors (POWW) Conference sponsored by the Cheyenne and Sheridan VA Healthcare systems, Saturday, August 2 at the Ramkota in Casper.
The POWW event celebrates and is targeted to women veterans of the US military. POWW 2025 offers everything from tours of the Wyoming Veterans Memorial Museum, to the Ben Patton Project, which allows veterans to create short films that express their experiences of serving their country.
Among the breakout sessions will be Baier’s presentation on AARP’s six pillars of brain health. The six pillars of brain health include: being social, engaging your brain, managing stress, ongoing exercise, restorative sleep, and eating right. AARP Wyoming has made brain health education a priority. Each week we offer a robust series of online classes held via zoom that are free and open to the public. Anyone of any age can join. Check them out at aarp.org/wyevents
Baier has worked with AARP for the last 20 years in a variety of roles and states. Before coming to Wyoming, Baier served in AARP’s Office of Volunteer Engagement supporting AARP state offices with strategic planning, training, and virtual presentations. In her role as Wyoming’s ASD-Outreach and Local Advocacy, Baier works out of AARP’s Wyoming office in Cheyenne supporting community action teams and local events.

AARP and Veterans
The idea behind AARP’s Veterans, Military, and Family (VMF) initiative is a simple one - find a way to connect the nation’s veterans, and the better than 5 million AARP members who have served in our nation’s armed forces with what they deserve. It is that philosophy that has born aarp.org/veterans, a free website that seeks to get information to veterans as quickly and easily as possible. AARP has a number of other resources on its website, including Guide to Military and Veterans Pension; a listing of keys to a successful transition from military life; Veterans Guide to Financial Benefits; Veterans Guide to Social Security, and more. Those items are all free and available at veterans.aarp.org.
