AARP Hearing Center
During recent online workshops, Jenn Baier, AARP Wyoming’s outreach director, heard loud and clear: people want a bird-watching class.
Birding is a great brain activity and can be done individually or as a group. Birding provides a wonderful way to enjoy nature, for every age and learning style, so she reached out to the Cheyenne High Plains Audubon Society—and they happily agreed to partner with us to create some virtual and in-person programming for next year.
Wyoming’s Audubon chapters and regional office already offer year-round activities, including field trips, nature talks, “Mindful Birding,” and online classes through Audubon Rockies. Their events welcome both beginners and experienced birders, with most being free and open to the public.
In 2026, we’ll team up to bring you AARP Wyoming birding opportunities—both in person and online—including guided bird walks and classes on using digital tools like Merlin, Motus, eBird, and the Audubon Bird Guide app to bring birding to your backyard, trail, or window.
