Here and Now, in Casper
Wyoming Dementia Care's Here and Now program is a recreational art program for those with dementia, as well as their caretakers. The program meets the third Tuesday of each month at The Nicolaysen Art Museum in Casper.
The class is free through funding from Wyoming Dementia and the Wyoming Arts Council. The class does require a reservation in advance and is limited to 14 participants.
The curriculum was originally through collaboration between Zhanna Gallegos, the
Curator of Education and the Executive Director of Wyoming Dementia Care, Dani Guerttman. Plans were then sent to Art Therapist Mentor Michelle Taristano-Amato for her review and expert opinion. The class is not art therapy, and two respite care providers from Intermountain Home Companions assist participants during the class.
