Ask Frank Abagnale questions about fraud at AARP Hawaii Tele-Town Hall

Join AARP Hawaii for a Telephone Town Hall and Facebook live featuring identity theft expert Frank Abagnale on Wednesday Oct. 18 at 1:30 p.m.

Register for the Tele-Town Hall at  https://access.live/AARP-HI  and get a chance to talk directly with Abagnale or join us on our AARP Hawaii Facebook page to watch the Tele-Town Hall and ask your questions via comments.

Abagnale was one of the most successful identity thieves in U.S. history. During his criminal career, which began when he was just 16, Abagnale forged more than $2.5 million in checks and posed as an airline pilot, doctor and lawyer before his capture at age 21.

His exploits became a best-selling book and the movie “Catch Me If You Can,” starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Abagnale.

Luckily for us, Abagnale became a good guy after going to prison. For the last 40 years, he’s helped the FBI outsmart con artists.  He’s also the AARP Fraud Watch Network Ambassador and advises consumers on how to protect yourself against identity theft.

AARP Hawaii is bringing Abagnale to Oahu on Oct. 18 and to Maui on Oct. 21. Both events are sold out, but we will be putting Abagnale's Oct. 18th presentation live on the AARP Hawaii Facebook page.

All of the events are free. Abagnale’s advice is invaluable.

Tickets are required for Abagnale’s presentation on Wednesday, Oct. 18 at the Japanese Cultural Center at 6 p.m. and for his presentation on Maui at the King Kamehameha Golf Club at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21. Call 1-877-926-8300 to get on the waiting list or go to aarp.cvent.com/fraud10-21 for Maui and aarp.cvent.com/fraud10-18 for Oahu.

Abagnale’s presentation on Facebook Live will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Oct.18. Go to AARP Hawaii’s Facebook page, @AARPHawaii, to see it.
