Act now to strengthen Arkansas seniors’ greatest support system: family caregivers

Caregiving-Iheart-4c_Web

AARP is working to ensure people can live in their homes and communities for as long as possible by advocating for more resources and services to assist those who need care. But we need your help.

Family caregivers often lack the resources and support they need to provide care. That's why our state needs to support family caregivers and provide services for seniors at home and in their communities. Even better, this would save the state money in the long run!

A report recently presented to legislators explains how Arkansas can save money by supporting home and community-based care as part of "Building a 21st century Medicaid program."

You can help make this happen by contacting your state legislators and asking them to consider and support the recommendations in this report.

At some point in our lives, each of us will likely take care of somebody we’re close to who needs help with everyday activities. Families and friends who care for loved ones are the backbone of a care system in which Arkansans can live independently and safely at home--where they want to be.

Click here to let your State Representative and State Senator know that Arkansas needs to do more to support family caregivers and provide services for seniors at home and in their communities.
