Raise Your Voice Before They Raise Your Rates!
The California Public Utility Commission (CPUC) is expected to make a final decision on whether to let Pacific Gas & Electric’s (PG&E) raise your rates. Please join us to hear the Commissioners’ final ruling on August 14, 2014.
In June an Administrative Law Judge recommended a $2.3 billion rate increase. While this amount is less than the company originally requested ($4.9 billion!), it's still too much - especially as many California seniors and families are still struggling to get by.
AARP California has collected over 9,000 postcards from AARP members living in PG&E service area opposing the PG&E $4.9 billion energy rate increase. Approximately 15,000 members sent a message to the CPUC urging them to be the voice for their families and communities ---- and put a stop to unfair utility rates.
Now the Commission will issue its final ruling on the $2.3 billion rate increase. Please join us at the Commission meeting.
