The Wednesday, February 26 Be There 4 Seniors Rally is hosted by aging advocates including AARP Georgia. This year the rally will be held in conjunction with Senior Week at the Capitol. When people stay in their homes and communities supported by family caregivers with home and community-based supports, Georgia saves money now and lessens the costs of care in the future. The rally calls for legislators to recognize the increased requirements for funding and life-sustaining services for older adults in Georgia by securing $10 million to: promote independence, reduce waiting lists for vital services, support caregivers, and protect the vulnerable.
AARP Georgia is pleased to announce that the City of Augusta has requested to be designated as an Age-Friendly Community in the AARP Network of Age-Friendly Communities, affiliated with the World Health Organization (WHO).
Join AARP this Tuesday, February 11 at 2 pm (EST) for a free webinar on how the health care law works for you and your family. AARP wants to be sure you have the most current and accurate facts, so that you can make informed decisions for you and your family.
Did you know that every three seconds someone’s identity is stolen? One of the reasons why AARP was founded was to protect the financial security of older Americans. AARP is continuing that fight by kicking off a Georgia campaign to fight identity theft and fraud through its Fraud Watch Network Campaign. The AARP Fraud Watch Network is a campaign to fight identity theft and fraud and give you access to information to protect yourself and your family.
