Recently, over 1,200 Virginians participated in live tele-town hall discussing Top Social Security Questions for 2013. Brian Bullock of AARP hosted. Alison Shelton from AARP’s Public Policy Institute was the guest. This tele-town hall was part of AARP’s continuing effort to help our members find peace of mind in retirement. Join AARP VA and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA) for a free financial fitness workshop. You will learn how to decrease debt, increase savings, handle your estate and make the most of your income retirement.
When you're caring for a family member or another loved one, it is too easy to put your own health on hold.  There is relief on the horizon. If you are a family caregiver, the health care law can benefit you and your dependents.
Homebound seniors struggling financially find it difficult to eat healthy, nutritious food on a regular basis. Virginia’s Meals on Wheels programs work to meet this critical need by delivering hot meals to qualified recipients. Partners in Aging, a non-profit coalition of Fredericksburg area businesses and organizations, is offering a monthly series of free seminars throughout 2013. This series covers a variety of aging topics presented by local experts.
