Fraud Watch Network Guards Against Scams

Fraud Watch Network - Fraud

AARP Arizona is helping companies in Prescott protect their employees against scams.

Local businesses can schedule an AARP Fraud Watch Network presentation to inform their workers how to recognize and outsmart con artists and guard against identity theft. AARP is promoting the program at a Prescott Chamber of Commerce business mixer cohosted by the Residence Inn Marriott.

The Federal Trade Commission received nearly 38,000 fraud complaints and nearly 6,500 identity theft complaints from Arizonans in 2014. In per capita ratings, the state ranked 16th highest in fraud complaints and ninth in identity theft complaints.

“Our Prescott-area volunteers are trained and ready to provide free fraud prevention presentations to local organizations,” said Shawn Trobia, AARP program specialist. To schedule an event for your business or community group, call 866-389-5649 toll-free.
