The Speaker’s Bureau is made up of AARP members who volunteer their time and skills to keep New Jersey's 50+ informed about the issues that matter to them. Speakers present at local community organizations, private businesses, houses of worship, and AARP chapters. Current topics include: Today’s AARP, Health Care Reform and Medicare, Prescription Affordability, Social Security and Medicare, the Affordable Care Act, and Identity Theft.

Lillie H., a current volunteer, on her experience as a Speaker’s Bureau volunteer:

"Like most retirees, I wanted to keep busy, so I decided to volunteer with AARP.  I joined the Speaker's Bureau and attended their training session. Several speeches later, I am still with the group.  The topics are decided by committee and written by one of its members.  It is so fulfilling to provide others with information that might have impact on their daily lives."
