Join AARP on Sunday, September 23 rd for a full day of fun! This year, prior to the annual Viva CalleSJ Open Streets Program, AARP will sponsor a 5K run to take full advantage of the car free streets.

AARP knows that it is more important than ever to have options for how you get around your community, so we’ve partnered with the City of Sacramento to bring their Urban Bicycling 101 class to you! This class will help you ride safely and effectively—whether its’ to work, to the store, to the park, or just a leisurely ride around your neighborhood.

As we focus throughout the month of July on empowering those in need, we are also shining a light on volunteer opportunities right here in California.

This August, AARP will be partnering with the Pilipinx American Library (PAL) and the Asian Art Museum to celebrate and examine Filipino literature and art over a series of events. PAL is a mobile, non-circulating library that collects print histories and celebrates narratives exclusively by Filipino writers, poets, artists and scholars.
