This disruption affects individuals living on fixed incomes, many of whom rely on SNAP to afford groceries and maintain their health.

Cesar Chavez Day has been an official holiday of the city and county of Denver since 2002. This year's holiday will be observed Saturday, March 29, with a 10:00 a.m. parade from Regis University to Cesar Chavez Park at Tennyson Street and West 41st Avenue, where a celebration will be held starting at 11:00 a.m. AARP Colorado is sponsoring the 2014 celebration, participating in the parade and will have a booth at the park.
