Voting in the mid-term elections is easy for some people – just a quick walk around the corner or a short drive to the polling station. But for others, it may seem impossible.
Yvette Peña, AARP’s Vice President for Latino Audience Strategy, will be a guest speaker at the 2018 Latino Summit, “Empowerment through Action.” This year’s Summit will focus on the importance of voting. The Summit ties in well with AARP’s new “Be the Difference, VOTE” campaign. The Campaign encourages voter’s to make their voices heard on issues affected American’s age 50 and over. AARP Delaware and the Bear Glasgow YMCA are teaming up to bring you fitness, food, friends and fun. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is looking to expand its team of volunteers for the upcoming tax season. Tax-Aide, now in its 51 st year, offers free in-person preparation and assistance to anyone, especially those 50 and older, who can’t afford a tax preparation service. Volunteers make a difference in their communities by assisting many older, lower-income taxpayers, and their families, who might otherwise miss out on the tax credits and deductions they’ve earned.
