A new AARP survey, released in conjunction with Social Security’s 90th anniversary, confirms that Americans highly value Social Security, and even more so than five years ago. The vast majority of Americans – 95% of Republicans, 98% of Democrats, and 93% of Independents – consider Social Security vital to the financial security of all Americans, and 67% believe it is even more important for retirees than it was five years ago.

February is Black History Month, and to celebrate, AARP Delaware and AARP Pennsylvania are teaming up with the Colored Conventions Project (CCP) to commemorate Douglass Day, the birthday of Frederick Douglass. The day of events begins with a celebration at University of Delaware, with a special reception later in the afternoon at the African American History Museum in Philadelphia.
Beginning February 1 and continuing through April 15, AARP Foundation is providing free tax assistance and preparation through its Tax-Aide program. AARP Foundation Tax-Aide is the nation’s largest free tax assistance and preparation service. Since its inception, the program has served more than 50 million taxpayers.
AARP is proud to announce our fifth annual bipartisan class of Capitol Caregivers, who fought this year to increase support for family caregivers and their loved ones.
