AARP is hosting a tele-town hall and several meetings across the state to encourage uninsured Iowans and those needing prescription drug coverage to sign up.
Open enrollment for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act runs from Nov. 15 to Feb. 15. Open enrollment for Medicare Part D prescription drug plans began Oct. 15 and continues through Dec. 7.
“Iowans who miss signing up for these programs risk losing access to savings on medications and access to affordable health care coverage,” said Kent Sovern, AARP state director.
Visit aarp.org/ia to learn how to participate in the Nov. 12 tele-town hall (a statewide telephone conference) or to sign up for one of several information sessions in December on the health care exchange.
