Creative work from communities across the nation, including Kuna, Idaho, is showcased in the third edition of AARP’s Where We Live: Communities for All Ages series. This edition shares more than 100 articles and dozens of photographs on the ways communities throughout the U.S. are becoming great places to live for people of all ages. It also highlights mayors and other community leaders who are making this change happen. All 50 states, the District of Columbia, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico are featured in the book.

Across Idaho we are beginning to see more and more communities taking up projects to help make their town, city or neighborhood more livable. But many residents and local leaders are still asking themselves, “What exactly is a livable community”?
AARP Idaho is now accepting applications for the 2018 Community Challenge grant program to fund “quick-action” projects that spark change in local communities. The grant program, which is now in its second year, is part of AARP’s nationwide Livable Communities initiative, which aims to make communities great places to live for everyone.
As part of the fight against fraud and identity theft, AARP Idaho, Shred-it, Mountain West Bank, The Village at Meridian and Crime Stoppers of Southwest Idaho will hold a document shredding opportunity on April 7, 2018 at the Mountain West Bank branch at The Village in Meridian. The event takes place from 10am to 2pm or until the trucks are full. There is a five box limit per vehicle.

With tax-filing season a prime time for identity theft scammers to prey on unsuspecting consumers, the AARP Fraud Watch Network is reminding Idaho taxpayers that submitting their tax returns as soon as is practical can greatly reduce their chances of being victimized by a fraudulent return.
