Bessie Katsilometes, Ph.D., former Dean of Idaho State University-Meridian and Idaho State University-Boise, is the newest member of the AARP Idaho Executive Council. AARP Idaho has more than 188,000 members statewide and more than 38 million members nationwide.
You are invited to attend the upcoming AARP Volunteer Network Meeting on February 15th, at 2:00 pm MT. If you are completely new to AARP, and have not received an orientation, the AARP new volunteer orientation will take place at 1:15 pm MT.

AARP Idaho has appointed Corrine Tafoya Fisher to their executive council – the highest state-level volunteer position within the nonprofit, nonpartisan organization. AARP Idaho has more than 187,000 members statewide and more than 38 million members nationwide.
Are you looking for ways to make a difference in our community and “give back”, particularly to your fellow 50+ Gem Staters? If so, we would love to share how AARP Idaho is working to ensure that Idaho residents have choice, control and independence through every stage of their lives. Please join us for a volunteer team building workshop at our Boise office at 250 S. 5th, Suite 800 in Boise. Limited free parking is available.
Each month AARP produces an hour long television show that airs on RFD-TV called Rural America Live with AARP. Topics include disaster preparedness, financial security, fraud prevention and the list goes on and on. You can watch previous episodes HERE. The key word is “Live” because this is an interactive program where we answer questions and take calls during the broadcast. We’re currently reaching about 500,000 viewers and getting hundreds of calls each show.
AARP Idaho and the Treasure Valley Family YMCA are happy to announce an exciting opportunity for folks age 50+ in Canyon County and surrounding communities that focusing on healthy living in a way that is fun and exciting.
