New collaboration offers four-week series blends personal growth and fitness for the 50-plus and available in-person and virtually - everywhere.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 4, 2024) AARP Kentucky is joining with the Lexington Senior Center and certified StrongerLife coaches to lead fitness program series designed specifically for those 50+. All levels are welcome for the free four-week fitness program available in-person and virtually. Dr. Dustin Jones, DPT (StrongerLife) will guide participants through essential components of physical health that are crucial for aging well. The 45-minute sessions aren't just lectures – they're interactive experiences designed to inform, empower, and have fun.

WHAT: A Guide to Fitness for the 50+

WHEN: Series launches Wednesday, March 6 at 2:00 p.m. EST
- Series continues: Every Wednesdays - March 6, 13, 20, and 27 (2:00 p.m. EST)

WHERE: Two options to join: In-Person at Lexington Senior Center (195 Life Lane, Lexington 40502) -Or- Register for online classes.

WHO:       A community event open to everyone - at no cost.

About the Series: Many of us have been on a physical wellness journey at different points in our lives. These classes focus on those 50-plus and the importance of building and maintaining muscle strength in a “judgement free zone.” Develop a personal approach to fitness creates authentic engagement and connection in a real and meaningful way. The 45-minute sessions will be both educational and active, so be ready to move! Each session includes a mini workout with standing and seated options. Please consult your physician before beginning any new exercise regimen.
