As data breach incidents proliferate, a new AARP survey finds that that an alarming number of Kentucky residents have failed to take the basic precautions against identity fraud. In response, AARP Kentucky and the AARP Fraud Watch Network launched a campaign to raise awareness of identity theft risks and educate consumers on how to enhance the safety of their personal information.
AARP Kentucky is returning to the Kentucky State Fair, although in a smaller capacity. This year, AARP will share a booth with KIPDA, the Area Agency on Aging.
Frank Abagnale, who for more than 40 years has advised the FBI on how to outsmart con artists, will speak at the Kentucky Center for Performing Arts in Louisville on Thursday, Oct. 12. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the presentation begins at 6:45 p.m.
AARP Kentucky is hosting Grandparents and Family Day at two ballparks this spring. The Louisville Bats, a Cincinnati Reds’ farm team, will welcome AARP members and their guests as the team takes on the Gwinnett Braves on Wednesday, May 31, at 6:35 p.m.
