During February and March, in honor of Black History Month, AARP is celebrating the stories of six Californians defining what it means to take hold of all of life’s possibilities at any age.

We conclude our series this week by featuring Kim Hunter, President and CEO of LAGRANT COMMUNICATIONS.

Kim doesn't take getting older for granted.  "Reaching this milestone is something I celebrate because life is fragile," he says. He understands this well, as his father passed away at the age of 50.

Kim has accomplished much as an entrepreneur, education advocate, and champion of diversity. He's established a foundation to provide scholarships, career development workshops, and internships for minority students. He joined AARP because we share the same commitment he has to serving the community.

His first introduction to our organization was learning about our CEO A. Barry Rand; he's since been impressed with the information and programs we provide. Kim says he's also a fan of our member benefits like discounts on restaurants and hotels. He takes pride in using his AARP card whether he's traveling or at home in Los Angeles.

What's next for this communications pioneer writing his next chapter? He'll continue to appreciate all life has to offer and serve as a mentor for others as they reach for their goals. We're proud of this AARP member who helps others turn dreams into real possibilities.
