Make your voice heard and contact your Parish P resident -- let him or her know that LA SWIFT is a vital link between the two cities. It connects people to jobs, family and services. Every day hardworking people struggle to make ends meet. In fact, almost 20 million people 50 and older are feeling overwhelmed by mounting debt, poor credit or lack of savings. It doesn’t have to be that way.
From 2001 through 2009, the number of people age 50 and above struggling with hunger or lacking sufficient nutrition and food resources rose by almost 80 percent. Today, nearly 9 million older Americans are at risk of hunger. Unless we act, that number will only increase as the aging population grows.
