Make a Difference, Become an Advocate

WV State Capitol

The state Legislature begins its two-month session on Jan. 9, and AARP West Virginia is ready to advocate for 50-plus Mountain Staters and their families.

With a team of more than 30 volunteers, the state office staff will be mobilizing its Capitol Advocacy Team, maintaining a visible presence in Charleston.

Issues on the agenda include financial security, home- and community-based services and caregiving—including a caregiver tax credit to defray the costs of transportation, home modifications and personal-care-attendant services.

Members can follow developments on social media at facebook.com/aarpwestvirginia and on Twitter @AARPWV.
