AARP has awarded Community Challenge grants to six organizations across Maryland. The projects, which fund community gardens, accessible bus stations and more, are slated for completion by November 30.
The 445th Legislative Session of the Maryland General Assembly ended Monday, April 10, 2023. Over the 90 days of the legislative session, dozens of AARP Maryland volunteers reviewed hundreds of bills, from expanding broadband to behavioral health services, testified before the house and senate committees, met with lawmakers, and convened in Annapolis to discuss AARP’s legislative priorities.

Now in its sixth year, the program supports quick-action projects that spark change and improve communities in key livability areas of public spaces, transportation, housing, civic engagement, coronavirus recovery, diversity and inclusion, plus other innovative projects.
Community Challenge grants support work in Baltimore City, Anne Arundel, Montgomery and Cecil Counties.
