AARP is working with the Small Business Administration to offer free webinars for budding entrepreneurs age 50-plus. The online courses offer advice on how to jump-start a new venture or expand a small business. Participants can learn how to write a business plan, finance start-up costs and build a customer base.

“These courses can help the growing ranks of boomers who want to go into business for themselves—whether because of a layoff, a need for supplemental income or the desire to pursue a new passion,” said Lori Parham, AARP state director.
