Fraud Fighters: How to Avoid Scams

Print

AARP Minnesota invites community groups across the state to schedule a free Fraud Fighter presentation. About 20 trained volunteer presenters are available to talk about the latest trends in telephone and online scams, unsuitable investments and even theft by family members. Participants learn the tricks con artists use and how to protect themselves from fraud.

“Scammers are using ever more sophisticated means of separating you from your money,” said Seth Boffeli, AARP associate state director for communication. “The best means of protecting yourself and your family members is to stay up to date on the tricks of the trade.”

To request a presentation, email Jay Haapala, AARP associate state director for community outreach, at jhaapala@aarp.org or call him at 651-726-5654.
