New "Investing in Montana Communities" Report Now Available from AARP Montana

The latest edition of Investing in Montana Communities, from AARP Montana, has been released and is available for free as a digital download.

The new report features 41 inspiring community projects from Montana’s local leaders and nonprofits funded by AARP Community Challenge Grants.

AARP Community Challenge Grants are funds awarded to implement quick-action projects that help great communities become even better places for people of all ages to live and thrive by improving public places; transportation; housing; digital access; and civic engagement, with an emphasis on the needs of adults age 50 and over.

“Over the past six years we have funded 41 different Montana projects and we have worked with grantees on a wide range of ideas from creating safer streets, improving public transportation, trails and parks to creating community gardens and enlivening neighborhoods with murals, benches, lighting, planter boxes and bike racks.” said AARP Montana State Director Tim Summers. “We have shared all of these projects in detail online, but now we have compiled these projects into one publication, complete with photos, called Investing in Montana Communities.”

“The latest Investing in Montana Communities report highlights interesting ideas and solutions from Montana’s local leaders to improve their communities, respond to pressing issues, and build partnerships,” said Nancy Andersen, AARP Montana Director of Outreach and Community Challenge Grant lead for the office. “This free publication is available in digital download format. I would encourage anyone interested in finding out more about these inspirational ideas to download their free copy.”
