Tips for Caregivers To Help Protect Loved Ones From Fraud

Older adults reported losing $3.4 billion to fraud nationally in 2023, according to the most recent FBI data. Cases ranged from investment and imposter scams to fake lotteries.

AARP New Hampshire has a website (aarp.org/nhfraudprevention) focused on helping the state’s 168,000 caregivers protect their loved ones from scams. It includes tips for caregivers on securing their care recipient’s personal and financial information and resources for what to do if a loved one has been targeted by criminals.
