Volunteers Needed for Capital City Task Force

Volunteer in Milwaukee County

Almost 85 percent of the state’s Medicaid dollars for long-term care go to nursing homes, but 95 percent of New Hampshire residents say they want to age at home, according to AARP studies.

AARP New Hampshire is recruiting volunteers for its Capital City Task Force to work to change that funding imbalance and instead direct more money toward helping residents stay in their homes for as long as possible.

During the legislative session, task force members meet monthly and also attend hearings, talk with legislators and testify at hearings.

Recruiting events will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at Dover Public Library, 73 Locust St., Dover; Wednesday, Nov. 28, at AARP New Hampshire, 45 South Main St. No. 202, Concord; and Thursday, Nov. 29, at Manchester City Library, 405 Pine St., Manchester.
